Sailing Lessons

January - June 2014.

On January 11-12, 2014 Shorty and I took the ASA Basic Keelboat class on Lake Pleasant, where I met Ernie. Since then, we have been practicing every Wesnesday till Ernie returned to Canada. Then Sammi came aboard every Wednesday and Jim, another Canadian, helped me with sail trim and some singlehanding techniques. Doug, Lou, Helen, Carolyn, and Pat from the Lake Pleasant Sailing Club all logged time on the boat as well. I counted over 34 days in four months out on the lake. My neice came out for an overnight and my nephew for a day. Even Diane from California spent a night anchored out with Burros braying. Who would have thought sailing in Arizona would be so much fun!

Every month, the club had a raft up and i went to them all! They were so much fun.

So now to get my 103 and 104 classes, I am heading to Newport beach next week. I will be back at sea! And after that, Jim has invited me to sail on his boat Wind Maiden in Canada for a couple weeks
